Aux 12.5 Gal Fuel Tank 170
i am in search of the stc and tank to add the extra fuel in the left wing of my straight 1948 ragwing 170. if anyone has done this and can point me in the correct direction it would be greatly appreciated. thanks a bunch

I too have a 1948 rag wing C170 SN 18727 ( last one made) and I am interested in extending the range by installing another 12.5 gallon tank in the left wing. I am concerned about what is involved with this installation.
I would appreciate your input on this matter ,at your leisure .

I thought about this when I did my wings but I decided I have to stop before the time range due to my older age. I do get better than 4 hrs on my 3 tanks which is enough for me. Every once in a while, I do wish that I would have done this if just for resale in the future.

eureka i found the stc
i found the stc holder to add that second tank in the right wing, if anyone else is interested his address is

a second tank, yes
he takes a left hand 12.5 gallon tank out of a C-140. then where the fuel guage goes he welds that shut. then he adds the two throats for the front and back connections. its a fairly new stc, 2004 i believe. but you get your total up to 46 gallons.
