Gary, same 180 gear legs (added P-ponk) and same nose bowl. Everything is same except I had the holes patched where the exhaust was. I changed your polished prop with the yellow tips, out for the same 8043. Same 8.50 tires, but new. Put the float kit with V-brace in. Took all the strobes, beacons, & antennas off and put wingtip strobes on. Left the eye bolts on top. Added Bass Tail Handles before the paint job. Went ahead and resheeted the wings while work was being done. To tell you the truth, I sorta love 87B! She's pulled me out of some tight situations when I thought it was over.
If you look close (after pic), you can see the brown interior handles in the window. It still has the exact interior that you put in it in Oregon. But some day it will have the same interior as Jim Wildharber's, from the same shop, in Mena, Ark. Did you put the bubble windows in? Had all windows polished and love the bubble side windows. Real handy for picture taking and extra shoulder room. Nothing beats listening to Nickel Creek on her Sony CD Stereo, while flying around in the Ozarks.
This picture was taken at sheep camp off of the Tazlina Glacier. I've looked back many times, from that mountain, to see black bears sniffing 87B, but they never hurt her. They would rip camp apart though, if I didn't lock everything up in barrels.
The picture on Fly-Low Cover was taken by the editor, Ralph McCormick. That was last year when we landed on the Arkansas River Sand Bar, to get a picture for the 170 Calendar. I had no ideal he was going to use that picture for a cover shot.

87B
Dave,
Thanks for the update on 87B. She also kept me out of trouble several times. Yes I put the bubble windows in. Also the belt driven vacuum pump and 59 172 nose bowl. If you get a chance, would you take a picture of the rear access inspection plate we talked about earlier? I would like to do the same on 36D, a 55 with a 180 Avcon I'm restoring. I,ll send you pictures on e-mail. Haven't figured out how to post pictures on this web site yet.
regards,

Dave is good at the pictures! I'm still looking for parts for the belt driven vac pump at a resonable price?BVRAIR wrote:Dave,
