Re: Insurance question
My policy I received from Travers says AIG Aviation on the cover and the issuing company is listed as the National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburg, PA. Anna Rice from Travers has been friendly to deal with and being a first time owner with a TT of a little less than 200 hrs, tailwheel time...

Re: Oil Leak
A small corrosion hole in one and a crack at the screw hole in another of the 6 magnesium pushrod flanges where the pushrods enter the engine case was the culprit causing a substantial oil leak in my O-300B. It took pulling the cylinders to discover it but was an easy fix otherwise. Unfortunately no...

Re: O-300-B approval
So, a "friend of mine" recently purchased this really wonderful 170A with the O-300B in it not realizing it was something other than an already approved installation. What should "he" do to "come out of the closet"

Re: $100 Hamburger NORTHWEST (WA,OR,ID,WY,MT)
Flew in to Shelton (KSHN) this past Saturday. The cafe attached to Skydive Kapowsin has great food at a very reasonable price. 360-432-8000.
Avgas was $4.75 which was cheaper than I have found for quite some time.
The skydivers provided great entertainment.
Cool place to visit.

Re: Flying with the doors off
That may actually be what I have also - less some of the detail. I just arrived back in town and will have the paperwork in hand tomorrow.
Thanks for all the input.
And, Dang..........it looks like Ol' Gar's sky-diving adventure ended up being a crappy experience
(great video!)

Flying with the doors off
My recently purchased 170A came with, among several other great extras, the STC to fly with the doors removed 8O The paperwork says "for the purpose of photography or skydiving" and has some operational limitations on bank angle and airspeed. It lived in Alaska for several years, has ski f...

Off Airport
I recently moved from Alaska to Washington State and understand the flying freedoms may be somewhat limited compared to what I was used to in Alaska regarding off airport operations. Can someone shed some light on what is acceptable, what is frowned upon and what may get you in hot water with the la...

PPonk / 180 gear
Greetings from the proud new (and first time aircraft) owner of 1264D, a 1951 170A. Love the differences between this plane and the 172's I've been flying the past few years. It's probably been covered somewhere already but I would value the opinion of some other 170 owners on the value and importan...
